Lorraine Cota, 80, of St. Hilaire, MN, passed away on Sunday December 18, 2022, surrounded by her loving family at her residence in St Hilaire, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM on Friday, December 23, 2022 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN with MSGR. Timothy McGee Officiating. Burial will be held at St. Dorothy Catholic Cemetery, Dorothy, MN.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, 5:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN and also an hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Lorraine Josephine Cota was born June 1, 1942 in Grafton, ND daughter of Lawrence and Josephine Currie.
On June 27, 1961 she was united in marriage to Leo Cota from Crookston, MN. They made their home in Dorothy, MN and moved into St. Hilaire in 1977. Lorraine worked at Land O Lakes Turkey plant for 39 years retiring in 2018. She loved to put puzzles together and had a strong heart for everyone.
Lorraine is survived by her children Barbara (Gary) Gebauer, Marlene (Roger) Flaten, Virgil Cota, Kevin Cota (special friend Shawna Thorpe), Michelle (David) Lubitz; grandchildren Robert Flaten, Tina Flaten, Michael (Liz) Gebauer, Derek Gebauer, Aaron, Hailey and Conner Cota, MacKenzie (James) Johnson; siblings Ernestine (Richard) Klipping of Red Lake Falls, MN, Evelyn Boutain of Thief River Falls, MN and Duane (Leslie) Currie of Coon Rapids, MN.
Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents, husband Leo, sons David and infant Randy, granddaughter Brooklyn Cota, sisters Donna Mae Boutain, Theresa Solarski, Rose Ann Johnson and brother Edward Currie.
