Obituary | Lois Jean David of Grand Forks, North Dakota

Lois Jean David, 92, of Grand Forks, passed peacefully on Monday, December 12, 2022 at her son’s home.

Lois Giese was born December 29, 1929 in Grand Forks, ND, the daughter of John & Katherine (Schuldt) Giese. She grew up in East Grand Forks and graduated from East Grand Forks Central High School. Lois married Joseph David on June 19, 1948 in East Grand Forks, MN. She and her husband ran the Grand Forks Airport Café and then owned & operated the Coffee Cup Café. After selling the café, Lois worked as a dietary cook at Altru Hospital, retiring in 1971. 

Lois is survived by 2 children, Don (Terri) David of Grand Forks, and Susan (James) Weber of Florida; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph; son, Marvin; granddaughter, Angela; brothers, Norman and Art; and sisters, Dorothy, Aileen and Margaret.

  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice of the Red River Valley. 

 

Funeral Service:  11:00 AM, Monday, December 19, 2022 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1710 Cherry Street, Grand Forks, ND.

Visitation:  1 hour before services at the church.

Interment:  Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks in the Spring.
