LoAnne (Cerny) Lokken passed away on Thursday, July 17th, in her home in River Falls, WI, surrounded by loving family members. The service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, August 15th at 4:00 p.m. in Thief River Falls, MN, at trfnews.i234.me’s Funeral Service with Kevin Reich officiating. A light lunch will follow. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. 

LoAnne Cerny was born in Warren, MN on July 4th, 1935 to Louis J. Cerny Jr and Luella (Keefe) Cerny. She was baptized in her birthtown of Warren, MN, on November 3rd, 1935. She went on to graduate from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, MN, in 1953. At age 18, she began working for Northern Woodwork as well as a department store before marrying Raymond Bjorgaard on September 5th, 1953. Together, they then moved to Bonner Springs, KS, where the couple had four children. While in Kansas, LoAnne took on one of her least favorite jobs of bookkeeping. In 1966, the marriage was dissolved, and LoAnne moved back to her hometown of Thief River Falls, MN, with her children. It was here that LoAnne began working at the local hospital in the billing department, and would go on to work her favorite position at American Family Insurance. LoAnne soon met Leo Lokken, and the pair were united in marriage on June 25th, 1971, in Sisseton, SD. The couple made their home on the Lokken family farm in Thief River Falls, MN, where they would spend many years farming, fishing, and enjoying time with family. In 2003, after her husband’s passing, LoAnne moved to Grand Forks, ND, to be closer to her children. In 2009, she moved to Cottage Grove, MN, to be closer to family once again. She has lived in Hastings, MN, and Inver Grove Heights, MN, before finding her final residence in River Falls, WI. LoAnne enjoyed sewing and quilting with her daughter, going to retreats in Detroit Lakes, MN, going fishing with her family, and spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved Diet Coke (no ice), Culvers, Applebee’s, original Lays potato chips, blueberries, genealogy, and God. 

LoAnne is survived by three children: Kashina Brooks, New York Mills, MN; Richard (Mary) Bjorgaard, Fargo, ND; and Lori (Michael) Lucht, River Falls, WI. She is survived by 10 grandchildren: Stacey Lucht; Scott (Lindsay) Lucht; Brenda (Brandon) Hackett-Lucht; Cory Lucht; Jaclyn Lucht; Stacy (Andrew) Bjorgaard; Allison Lucht; Jason (Samantha) Bjorgaard; Emily Lucht; and Finn Lucht. As well as five great-grandchildren Ryler Hackett- Lucht; Zander Hackett- Lucht; Trexton Hackett-Lucht; Melanie Bjorgaard; and Amethyst Hackett- Lucht. LoAnne was also survived by four sister-in-laws, Joyce Cerny; Carol (Lloyd) Halvorson; Carmen (Stewart) Solem; and Joyce Jensen. As well as many nieces and nephews including, Kim (Matt) Ableiter; Pam (Rob) Sando; and Mike Cerny. LoAnne is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leo, a brother, a sister, and her infant baby John.
