Jorde Hemmestvedt, 34, of Fargo, ND formerly of Thief River Falls, MN passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

A gathering time for family and friends will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, May 21, 2021, at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls. The funeral to celebrate Jorde’s life will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Johnson Funeral Service and will be led by his sister, Danielle Hemmestvedt. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.

Jorde Alan Hemmestvedt was born December 22, 1986 in Thief River Falls, MN the son of Scott and Darla (Knutson) Hemmestvedt. He was baptized and confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. Jorde attended Roseau Elementary School in Roseau, MN, Challenger Elementary School, Franklin Middle School, and Lincoln High School all in Thief River Falls graduating with the class of 2005. After moving to Fargo, ND, Jorde attended Moorhead State University in Moorhead, MN for Sports Medicine.

Jorde worked in maintenance for many years at Eventide Senior Living in Fargo and Moorhead. Most recently, Jorde worked at Camrud Foss Concrete Construction in Moorhead.

Jorde enjoyed riding his Victory Motorcycle and working on his motorcycle with his uncle Marlon. Jorde loved to cook and had a passion for music. His number one artist was Tom MacDonald. The family was very important to Jorde! He loved to spend as much time with his son, Shyne as he could. Shyne was Jorde’s mini-me.

He had a passion for bodybuilding and was very dedicated, disciplined, and strong-willed in his approach to the sport. Jorde strived to live his life the best he possibly could. He ate well and encouraged his family and friends to do the same. Jorde competed in numerous bodybuilding competitions in Fargo and Minneapolis and was awarded several trophies. His favorite place and home away from home were Metroflex Gym-Fargo.

He met his future wife, Brenda Arbach while working out at the gym. They had much in common as bodybuilders and were married but later on, went their separate ways.

He was caring, fun-loving, goofy, a jokester, he always put others before him, even though his life was not always easy he strived to make it better and improve himself.

Survivors include his loving son, Shyne, and his mother, Claire of Fargo; mother, Darla Hemmestvedt of Thief River Falls; father, Scott (Jan Leader) Hemmestvedt of Thief River Falls; sister, Danielle Hemmestvedt; nephew, Leon Jorde Hemmestvedt both of Newfolden, MN; grandmother, Helen Knutson of Thief River Falls; aunts & uncles, Marlon & Peggy Knutson, Jeff & Deanna Dahle, Tim & Debbie Nelson, Lonnie & September Thompson; other families, Jamie, Ryan & Nathan Sagstuen; many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends; and his cat, Scar.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Herman Knutson.
