Faye Annette Emmons, born on August 26, 1949, in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025, at North Star Manor in Warren, Minnesota. She was the beloved daughter of Walter Lloyd Smith and Aloise Opal (Ross) Smith.

Faye grew up in Middle River, Minnesota, where she attended school. She was baptized on May 26, 1950, and later confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Middle River. Afterward, she lived in Thief River Falls, as well as Minneapolis, Colorado, Texas, and Indiana, before returning to Thief River Falls, where she raised her children.

Faye was married twice during her lifetime—first to Eddie Folk from 1968 to 1973 and then to David Emmons from 1974 to 1977. She was a mother to three children: Richard Alan Smith, Curtis Banning Folk and Nichole Ann Marie Benson.  She also loved her animals, especially her cherished dog Gimley.

She is survived by her children, Richard Alan (Janelle) Smith and Nichole Ann Marie Benson; six grandchildren: Mckenzie Smith, Morgan Smith, Sydney Smith, Taylor Nelson, Ava Nelson, and Teegyn Benson; and her sister Marsha (Bob) Bren. Faye will also be deeply missed by many extended family members and friends who were touched by her kindness.

Faye is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Opal Smith; her son Curtis Folk; her grandparents Hilda and Sam Ross and Louis and Gena Smith; her brothers Dean Smith and Jerry Smith; as well as other dear family members and friends.

Faye lived a life filled with faith and love for those she held dear.  May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Obit in Thief River Falls, MN. Private burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.
