Edwin Edward Yager of rural Grygla, MN took his life due to his medical pain and suffering to find peace and comfort, Friday, July 26, 2024 at his home near Grygla, MN.
Memorial service for Edwin will be held 2:00 PM Sunday August 11, 2024 at Obit in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at Our Saviors Church cemetery near Grygla, MN.
Edwin Edward Yager was born April 9, 1959 at Mora, MN son of Edward and Marjorie (Keehr) Yager. He was baptized at St. Paul’s Church in Ogilive and confirmed at Our Saviors Church near Grygla. The family lived on a farm near Ogilive, MN where he attended grade school through the 5th grade. In May of 1970 the family moved to a farm near Grygla, he attended school at Grygla graduating the class of 1977. He worked at Marvins in Warroad, worked with Ralph Smith doing carpentry, and helped at home with the dairy cows and crops until 1991 when he purchased his own farm. He raised beef cattle and crops until his retirement and sold the cattle. He then worked part time for Gary Anderson Farms.
Edwin enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, reading, driving around, picking mushrooms and blueberries. Spending time outdoors and time with his dogs was a joy for Edwin. He enjoyed working with cattle, cutting hay and just general farm work. He spent time in the garden, taking care of the vegetables and cutting meat. He was a member of the NRA and Our Saviors Lutheran Church near Grygla.
Edwin is survived by his siblings Marilou Byklum of Grygla, MN, Diane Yager of Grygla, MN, Ruby (Paul) Sundberg of Grygla, MN, William “Billy” (Marita) Yager of Grygla, MN; nieces and nephews Jessica Byklum, Lisa (Karl) Bring, Kevin Byklum, Matthew (Jennifer) Sundberg, Lindsay (Garret) Gjesdal, Jacob (Abby) Sundberg, Samuel (Michala) Sundberg, Eli (fiancé Alivia) Sundberg, Katy Yager, Emily Yager, Bethany Yager, Lydia Yager, and Olivia Yager; many great-nieces and nephews, aunts and uncle and cousins.
Edwin is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, infant brother Darwin, brother-in-law Orvis Byklum, along with other aunts, uncles and cousins.
