Obituary | Doris Ann Mathues of Grand Forks, North Dakota

Doris Mathues, 81, Grand Forks, died Tuesday, November 8, 2022 in Valley Senior Living on 42nd St., Grand Forks.

Doris Mathues (Dauphanais) was born April 22, 1941 in Wallhalla, ND to Celine and Charles Dauphanais. She spent her childhood in Wallhalla then moved to Bozeman, Montana where she enjoyed the outdoors.

Upon moving to Grand Forks she met her future husband, Cliff, who she married in 1975. She obtained her Accountancy degree from Aaker’s Business College of Grand Forks. She worked at Quad County and Glass and Paint as an accountant. She then worked at Altru Health System for over 30 years for cleaning services and volunteered at Altru’s children’s rehab center where she was lovingly known as “Grandma”.

Doris enjoyed long walks, plants, animals, being goofy, baking for loved ones, and above all her family. Her laugh could make anyone smile.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Edward, Percy, Odell, Dorene, Dilene, and Mary, as well as her children Roger, Barbara, and Monica. She was survived by daughter and daughter-in-law Leota and Debbie, grandchildren Lacey, David, and Randy, and great grandchildren Jarrett and Chloe.

The family is planning a Celebration of Life Service to be held at a later date.
