Delbert Lowell Christianson, 82, of Weslaco, TX , passed away peacefully at his home with his family along his side on Thursday, December 4, 2025.
Delbert Lowell Christianson was born on September 14,1943 in Roseau, MN, the son of Julius and Ruby (Lovejoy) Christianson. He was baptized and confirmed at Pine Grove Lutheran Church. Â Delbert attended school (grades, 1 through 8) in Malung, MN and then grades 9 through 12 at Central High School in Grand Forks, ND, graduating in 1961.
Delbert served for 6 years in the U.S. Army Reserves.
On March 5,1966, Delbert was united in marriage to the love of his life Norma Jean Epley in International Falls, MN.
He was employed for 6 years with Tollefsrud’s in International Falls.  In 1973, he moved his family to Thief River Falls, MN. He then did carpentry work for 2 years, and for 23 years in maintenance and painting for Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls. Delbert Christianson retired on disability in 1999.  After wintering in the Rio Grande Valley area since 2012, they decided to make Weslaco, TX their permanent home in 2021.
Delbert liked spending time with family, woodworking, camping and traveling in their motor home.
Survived by his lovely wife of 59 years, Norma; sons: Delroy (Sherri) Christianson and Brian (Stacey) Christianson; grandchildren: Aaron, Emma and Abigail Christianson; brothers: Milo and Layton Christianson; sister: Ione Boyd. Â Sisters-in-law: Marjorie Hancock, Maxine (Bill) Scholler, Linda Epley, and Mary Lou (Mel) Milender.
Preceded in death by both of his parents; his grandparents; father and mother-in-law; LeRoy and Velma Epley; brothers: Delbert Luverne (infant) and Melvin Christianson; sister: Betty Severson; Brothers-in-law: Howard (Chub) Hancock and Ronald Epley.
A Memorial Service for Delbert will be held at Noon on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Anders Macy officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at a later date at Pine Grove Cemetery.
