David Oscar Johnson, 77, of Oklee, Minnesota, passed away on March 19, 2025, at Farmstead Care Center in Moorhead, Minnesota.
David was born on November 3, 1947, in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, to Leonard and Margaret (Stenberg) Johnson. He was raised near Oklee and graduated from Oklee High School with the class of 1965. He continued his education at Northland Community and Technical College for one year before serving in the National Guard for six years.
David dedicated his life to farming, owning and operating a cattle farm near Oklee. After retiring, he remained in the community and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was also a devoted member of Salem Lutheran Church in rural Oklee.
He is survived by his children, Quinn Nelson and Johnson.me; grandchildren, Alex and Danielle Nelson of Randolph, Minnesota; sister, Judy Reger (Richard); niece, Kimberly Reger; nephew, John Reger; as well as great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Margaret Johnson.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Salem Lutheran Church near Oklee, Minnesota, with Reverend Jonathan Dodson officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Salem Church Cemetery.
David will be remembered for his dedication to farming and the connections he built within his community. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
