Darryl Heden of Brooks, MN, passed away on August 31, 2021 at Sanford Hospital in Bemidji, MN, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 62.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Service in Oklee, MN, with Rev. Tim Lundeen officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Brooks, MN.
Visitation will take place from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home in Oklee.
Darryl Milo Heden was born on July 15, 1959 in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Milo and Edith (Sund) Heden. He attended Lakeville High School in Lakeville, MN. In 1977 Darryl and his family moved to Oklee, MN, where his parents purchased the grocery store.
Throughout the years Darryl worked in the construction and truck driving industry.
Darryl met his wife, Kathy in 2002 and they were united in marriage on January 19, 2008 at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine, MN. Together they made their home in Brooks.
Darryl enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, road trips with Elvie Dog, driving the country roads to enjoy the outdoors and beautiful scenery, MN Vikings, and the MN Twins. He was a major Rush Limbaugh supporter and even had him in his phone contacts. Darryl loved spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends. He will always be remembered for his exceptional laugh, discussing politics, and just generally always being right.
Darryl is survived by his loving wife, Kathy of Brooks, MN; children, Cory Koralewski of Oklee, MN, April (Kent) Solheim of Erskine, MN, Adam (Jaime) Koralewski of Red Lake Falls, MN, and Ashley Koralewski of Thief River Falls, MN; grandchildren, Daphney and Cash Koralewski, Angel, Nikolas, and Zackary Solheim, Kylar Violette, and Evlyn Koralewski; brother and sisters, David Heden of Fargo, ND, Susan Heden of Detroit Lakes, MN, and Kimberly Heden of East Grand Forks, MN; niece, Gabrielle Crockett of Grand Forks, ND; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Milo and Edith Heden; best friend, Randy Jenkins; cousin, Steven Hillman; and his beloved dog, Elvie.
