Cheryl Boutain, 62, died Monday December 6, 2021 at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND.

Funeral Service will be at 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls with Pastor Chris Thoresen officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Cheryl Ann Klinke was born August 11, 1959 to Agda Margaret (Nelson) and Allen Wesley Klinke. There were 9 siblings altogether: Donald, Ronald, Richard, Lorna, Loren, Ross, Ranae, Cheryl, and Dawn.

Cheryl spent a portion of her childhood moving from Minnesota to Washington state, to Alaska mostly due to her father’s work.

At the age of 18, she married the love of her life; Ricky Boutain, Sr. on April 18, 1977. An astounding 44 years!

She always wanted a big wedding, so they decided to do just that. Cheryl and Rick renewed their wedding vows August 16, 2014 on a family farm in Lengby, MN.

Cheryl was mostly a homemaker but also worked at Kmart in the cafeteria. When Kmart closed the cafeteria down, she transferred to Women’s Clothing, and she quickly earned the name “Cheryl Apparel”. She also worked at the Best Western, Rising Bread Company in West Acres Mall, and GPK; both in Fargo.

Cheryl was a strong woman, a protective, loving, and caring mother. She loved to travel and was in talks of planning a trip to Las Vegas (again) next year; among others.  She adored and loved all her nieces, nephews, cousins, children, and grandchildren so very much and loved to shower them with gifts, hugs, sometimes sloppy kisses, and the occasional cheek pinching.

She was obsessed with decorating her home with endless amounts of decor’ and every homemade item she could get from Aunt Anita, Aunt Janet, and other crafty friends and family too.

She loved to dine out and have date nights with dad. Movies and Mexican food were her jam!  She enjoyed a good time with family and friends, dancing the night away. Every year, she looked forward to activities at the fair with her children & grandchildren, including going on rides, old time photos and the rodeo.

She enjoyed her animals, Sally, Ginger, Maxi, Dolly, Rosie, and Missy.

Cheryl is survived by her husband Rick of Moorhead, MN, son Rick Jr (Jessica), granddaughter Adalyn of Thief River Falls, son Jesse (Jolene), granddaughters Lydia, Christi, and Kinslee of Glyndon, MN, sister Lorna (Klinke) Snailum of Battleground, WA, Ranae (Bobby) Davidson of Middle River, MN; and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Agda and Allen Klinke, brothers Donnie, Ronnie, Richard, Loren, Ross, her sister Dawn, daughters’ Lisa and Christi, nephews Lance Klinke, Chad Green, niece Amy Rux, grandson Nicholas Boutain; father-in-law, Raymond Boutain; and many other relatives and friends.

Cheryl abruptly left our lives on Monday morning, December 6, 2021 but she will forever be in our hearts.
