Bernice S. Grossman, 85, Ada, MN, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Halstad Living Center, Halstad, MN.

Bernice Sylvia Pinske was born on September 30, 1936, the daughter of Otto and Elsie (Lietzau) Pinske and was raised on the family farm in Wild Rice Township, Gary, MN. She was baptized and confirmed her faith at the Immanuel Lutheran Church near her home. Bernice attended Wildwood District 28 Country school, and graduated from Twin Valley High School in 1954.

As a young lady, Bernice was employed working as a babysitter, an assistant at a florist shop, and a helper at the Kerlin berry farm.

Bernice was united in marriage to Bernard Grossman on February 12, 1956, and they were blessed with four children, Betty Ann, Bruce, Brenda and Beth.

Bernice made her career as a CNA at the Ada Wimmer Nursing Home where she loved caring for people.  Later in her career she also worked in the laundry and housekeeping department at the nursing home. After retirement from the Ada Nursing Home, she worked with her husband at the Ada Cenex Convenience Store.

Bernice and her husband Bernard built their own home in Ada, where she resided until her sudden illness.

Bernice’s favorite pastimes included drives out to the farm or lake to see her siblings, fishing trips, berry picking, canning, and baking. She loved dancing, tending to her flowers, reading, doing crafts and diamond paintings, and collecting angels. Bernice enjoyed spending time with her friends and attending Bible study.

Bernice is survived by her four children, Betty Ann Larson of Ada, MN, Bruce (Julie) Grossman of Grygla, MN, Brenda Grossman of Detroit Lakes, MN, and Beth (Scott) Hagel of Vadnais Heights, MN; eight grandchildren, Chad (LaVon) Larson, Mandie Larson, Stephanie (Kylan) Hagen, Shannon Radtke, Tracy (Josh) Liesmaki, Amanda Radtke, Benjamin Hagel, and Samuel Hagel; twelve great grandchildren; one brother, Roy (Helen) Pinske; sisters-in-law, Sharon Grossman and Judy Pinske; and several nieces and nephews.
