Pennington County Floodplain Management Ordinance
Notice is hereby given, pursuant to Sections 5.23 and 10.4 of the Pennington County Floodplain Management Ordinance that the Thief River Golf Club of 13697 188th St. NE, Thief River Falls, MN 56701, has applied for a Conditional Use Permit. The Pennington County Floodplain Management Ordinance governs placement of fill in excess of one thousand (1,000) cubic yards. The project is located at the address above, in Section 21 of North Township. The legal description of this property is described as part of government lots 7 through 9 and part of the east ½ of Section 16 and part of government lot 3 Section 21.
The Thief River Golf Club proposes to cut and borrow 3,300 cubic yards of material and use this material as fill to raise fairway #18. The proposed cut and borrow will be taken within the General Floodplain District and placed in the General Floodplain District on the same parcel owned by the Thief River Golf Club. A Hydraulic Analysis was completed on September 13, 2022 and concludes the proposed project will not cause increased flood heights or velocities.
Notice is further given, that the Pennington County Board of Commissioners will conduct a Public Hearing on the Conditional Use Permit request at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at the Pennington County Justice Center in the Board of Commissioners Meeting Room located at 141 Main Ave. S, Thief River Falls, MN. All persons wishing to comment on the proposed Conditional Use Permit request will have the option to be heard at this time.
