Northwest Minnesota Sees Increase in Felony Charges

here’s a look at recent felony charges in beltrami county district court 30-year-old brandon curtis of bemidji has been charged with felony first degree sale of cocaine according to court documents a paul bunyan drug task force agent working with the confidential informant learned curtis was allegedly making routine trips to minneapolis to obtain cocaine back in april he allegedly sold 28 grams of coke to a confidential informant for seven hundred dollars near his uh downtown bemidji apartment on the 300 block of minnesota avenue curtis has prior drug convictions and this pair of brother and sister are facing charges in the same case uh 22 year old amber dunn of bemidji has been charged with felony damage to property gross misdemeanor theft misdemeanor domestic assault and misdemeanor assault and her brother 25 year old myron howard of cass lake has been charged with a misdemeanor assault according to court documents on october 8th at 9 47 a.m in rural bemidji the pair broke into the residence of dunn’s former boyfriend and started assaulting him and another woman while they were sleeping punching them repeatedly and allegedly hitting the male victim with the door and putting a cigarette out on his back the male victim’s vehicle also had slash tires a smashed windshield and his iphone was missing in polk county district court 31 year old christopher moran of oakley has been charged with felony domestic assault according to court documents on october 10th crookston police responded to an apartment and a female victim stated moran just kept hitting her until she fell to the ground moran was later arrested in oakley also in polk county district court three charged in east grand forks 28 year old robert thiel of fargo is facing seven felony counts uh relating to sale of a controlled substance and possession of meth possession of a firearm failure to affix a tax stamp and first degree driving while impaired according to court documents on october 8 an east grand forks officer attempted a traffic stop and field took off and drove down the greenway trail along the river and stopped in some trees and then fled on foot a passenger jennifer hollers walked out of the woods and surrendered surrendered the other passenger was john du bois jr who was also arrested theo was found later walking down an alley in east grand forks after 20 grams of meth and a loaded shotgun were found in the vehicle jennifer hollers of crookston has been charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and john du bois jr of bismarck is facing four felony counts in relation to possession of drugs and a firearm i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me
