BAUDETTE, MN (trfnews.i234.me) A civil lawsuit filed by the North Star Electric Cooperative in Baudette, Minnesota claims massive theft of their electricity for a bitcoin mining operation.

  1. I am a huge Bitcoin Maxi, and an Electrical Engineer working in the Power Systems industry. I fully agree with the statement to not make it about the crypto mining equipment. The real issue is these people are criminals that were caught stealing electricity and bribing.

    But if they installed the transformer themselves, somehow to the grid, that is real ballsy!

    Also, I'm curious what SCADA software they were running to detect the line loss. I had worked for one of the largest SCADA providers for 8 years, it's great to see when SCADA helps identify issues on the grid!

  2. Wow, mention bitcoin and all the obvious advertisement bots having fake conversations pile up instantly. Doesn't seem shady at all, it's totally true, smart and honorable people get involved all the time.

    The first few suckers in a Ponzi scheme do get to make money I suppose.
