Clay County (trfnews.i234.me) — On Thursday, May 22, 2025, at approximately 3:45 PM, the Moorhead Fire Department responded to a house fire at 311 14th Street North in Moorhead, Minnesota.

Upon arrival, firefighters observed heavy smoke and flames emanating from a second-floor window. The blaze was swiftly contained to an upstairs bedroom, preventing further spread throughout the home.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported. However, the residents have been displaced due to the damage sustained. The American Red Cross has been contacted to assist the affected family.

Fire crews from Moorhead, Fargo, and Dilworth, along with Moorhead Police, Sanford Ambulance, and the Salvation Army, responded to the scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and damage estimates are not yet available.

According to the National Fire Protection Association, residential fires account for a significant portion of fire-related injuries and fatalities. Having functional smoke detectors and a fire escape plan can greatly increase the chances of survival during a house fire.
