North Dakota’s Oldest Resident Passes Away: A Look Back at Her 115th Birthday Celebration from Last Summer

NORTHWOOD, ND (trfnews.i234.me) It was Iris Westman’s 115th birthday in Northwood, North Dakota Friday. She’s the second oldest living person in American.
iris westman of northwood north dakota turned 115 years old today making her the second oldest living american and oldest north dakotan maybe around the eighth oldest living person on the planet covet 19 restrictions here at the northwood deaconess center kept folks a distance today but family and friends took time for a drive-by parade she grew up at anita north dakota on a farm she’s a 1928 graduate of und um she had a teaching career and was a librarian at various schools she lived in minnesota first she taught in north dakota and killed dear annetta and hillsborough and then she uh went on to teach and be a librarian in minnesota do you know where where she was a librarian in minnesota was that worthington okay uh worthington minnesota was where she finished her career she was also in staples minnesota i think okay yeah all right came back here i heard retired in 72. she retired in 1972 and moved back to north dakota in 1990. all right so where did she live when she came back in 70s she lived in grand forks i lived in grand forks at that time too uh so she came to parkwood place and lived in grand forks from 1990 and then in 2006 she came you know 2012. she came and moved to northwood okay so since i can’t ask her this in person everybody wants the immortal question she ever tell you what’s the secret to longevity she will tell you there isn’t a secret it’s all the lord’s doing that’s what she says she doesn’t really have a secret for that but she does she has always been a person who enjoys what comes her way she enjoys friends and family and makes the most of that happy 115th birthday iris westman in northwood north dakota i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me
