BATTLE LAKE, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – A 41-year-old pilot from Kindred, North Dakota, and his 4-year-old passenger miraculously escaped injury after their Piper Super Cub flipped over during the 18th Annual Fly-In at Battle Lake Airport. The incident occurred at 12:03 PM when the single-propeller plane lost power while approaching the landing strip.

The pilot attempted to land in a nearby cornfield, but the aircraft ended up on its top. Fortunately, neither the pilot nor the young passenger sustained any injuries. The plane suffered minimal visible damage.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that the incident was part of an organized Fly-In event at the airport. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will be conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the power loss.
