BROCKET, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) – The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) is examining a shooting incident that occurred during a high-speed chase in Nelson County on Thursday, September 12. The pursuit began in Lakota around 10:30 a.m. when Sheriff Kurt Schwind spotted a vehicle reported stolen from Grand Forks.
As the chase unfolded, it ended in a farm field northeast of Brocket, where shots were fired during the pursuit. Authorities have yet to determine who discharged the firearm, and no injuries have been reported. WDAY News observed BCI agents using metal detectors along North Dakota Highway 1, approximately four miles from the end of the chase.
Two individuals were detained following the incident, and charges are pending as the investigation continues.
