Norman County ( trfnews.i234.me ) – A Fertile man is facing several charges after an alleged domestic incident in Twin Valley earlier this month.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Norman County District Court, Ryan Oliver Aune, 34, of Fertile, has been charged with gross misdemeanor domestic assault, misdemeanor criminal damage to property, driving after revocation, and disorderly conduct.
The charges stem from an August 18, 2025, incident in which deputies were dispatched to a residence in Twin Valley following reports of a disturbance. Court documents state Aune went to his ex-girlfriend’s house after losing his job, began calling her names, and attempted to enter her home.
When the victim locked him out, Aune allegedly broke a storm window with his elbow before leaving the property. Deputies later confirmed his driving status was revoked at the time. The complaint also notes Aune has a prior domestic violence-related conviction from 2017 for violating an order for protection.
The victim told investigators she feared Aune during the confrontation. Along with domestic assault, he now faces additional misdemeanor counts tied to property damage, driving while revoked, and disorderly conduct.
If convicted, Aune could face up to one year in jail and fines of $3,000 for the gross misdemeanor assault charge, in addition to penalties on the other counts.
