NEWZ UPDATE: Road and Weather Conditions Through Friday Morning

Neil Berg here early on a friday morning with a look at road conditions and weather and it’s all about the weather today uh crime took a bit of a holiday as winter sets into our region now as we showed you last night the streets and roadways are getting icy this is east grand forks about eight o’clock on central avenue behind city hall driver slid up on the yard into the house no serious injuries around 4 a.m here’s a look at the und atmospheric sciences sky cam in grand forks looks pretty uh clear out there the big factor today is the wind let’s take you out on the road d.o.t trucks are out and about but if you’re making a morning commute basically anywhere in the northern valley you’re going to run into some slippery roads another big problem especially if you’re driving a big rig the wind weather service in grand forks saying 37 mile per hour winds around 4 am wind gusts up to 49 miles per hour and out here on the open road running into uh some visibility problems too and remember we have winter conditions you have to slow down if you hit the brakes hard you’re gonna slide now here’s a look at the webcam at border view lodge north of baudette along the rainy river to the entrance to lake of the woods we’ve got some heavy snow falling you can see on the weather service’s map here we’re in a winter weather advisory for most of our area then up in roseau and lake of the woods county we have a winter storm warning some heavy snow going on there so wherever you are around our region if you’re heading off to work or traveling today slow down roads are icy in many spots arrive alive i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me
