New Hartford Township (trfnews.i234.me) – On December 12, 2025, at 9:31 PM, a 2006 Jeep Commander, driven by 31-year-old Austin James Kaufmann of Onalaska, MN, lost control while traveling westbound on Interstate 90 near Winona County Road 101 in New Hartford Township, Winona County. The vehicle slid off the road and landed in the ditch.
Kaufmann, who was wearing his seat belt, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Gunderson Hospital in La Crosse for treatment. Authorities reported that alcohol was involved in the crash.
The road conditions were dry at the time of the incident. Tri-State Ambulance, Dakota Fire, and Winona County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
