here’s a look at recent felony charges across northwest minnesota 21 year old jamie cardenas of crookston is facing seven felony counts of failure to register as a predatory offender according to court documents there have been several incidents of not registering since 2000 when he was convicted of criminal sexual conduct sexual penetration of a person under 12 years of age and since then detectives have discovered an alleged string of perverted incidents by cardenas on the internet uh he was checking in with his probation agent but not actually living in the place he had listed as his residence and in beltrami county district court in bemidji 47 year old jason fultz of bemidji has been charged with felony domestic assault by strangulation according to court documents on sunday afternoon he allegedly assaulted a woman he was in a relationship with by punching her several times in the head kicking her in the ribs and choking her fultz has six prior convictions of assault and 32 year old douglas schmidt of bemidji has been charged with the trio of felonies fleeing dwi and possession of drugs meth according to court documents on january 24th at 12 10 a.m a deputy tried to pull him over for driving an atv because the deputy knew schmidt’s driving privileges were canceled uh schmidt allegedly took off for 16 minutes in a pursuit until he became stuck in the snow and fell off the atv and was arrested and in clearwater county district court in bagley 58 year old jay gray of bagley appeared in clearwater court on this week he’s facing a string of ever-growing charges um he’s facing a felony charge the most recent one of possessing clonazepam on january 23rd he was already on probation for a conviction of a burglary charge in 2017 and receiving stolen property in 2017 and while marijuana is legal in canada just across the rainy river from baudette it’s not legal in minnesota a father and son are each facing a felony charge of sale of marijuana 68 year old wayne brewer of portland north dakota and 27 year old a thailand brewer of baudette according to court records on january 22nd a lake of the woods county investigator got a search warrant for wayne’s vehicle and his son tylan’s residence in baudette officers confiscated two pounds of marijuana and 7 495 dollars in cash according to the criminal complaint thailand confirmed to investigators that he buys his marijuana for three thousand six hundred dollars a pound in north dakota and his dad delivers it to baudette where he resells it in smaller quantities i’m neil carlson reporting for inews dot tv
