we have an update regarding a bemidji school bus rollover on monday may 23rd northeast of bemidji at long lake drive and j court beyond some bumps and bruises the driver 59 year old marcin flemmel of bemidji and four students were not injured now at the time of the crash the bemidji school superintendent reported the bus had rolled on its side however i now have the sheriff’s department accident report which has statements from two students saying the bus rolled completely over two to four times and here’s a statement from a deputy regarding the driver reading from the accident report quote while in route it was confirmed all parties involved were uninjured and exited the bus upon arrival i observed tire ruts and slide marks in the east ditch leading to the school bus in the ditch on its side i spoke with marcin plymouth the driver of the school bus marcine informed me she was driving north on long lake between 45 and 50 miles an hour while approaching the turn marcine described looking up into her mirror to check on the kids riding in back when she felt her tires on the gravel of the rolled road shoulder marcine attempted to correct but then struck j court where it joined a long lake drive a losing control of the vehicle marcin informed me that this was her regular route and regular vehicle marcin did not describe any issues with the vehicle and even told me she completed the yearly vehicle inspection just before leaving on her route marcine informed me she was feeling under the weather but took no medication for her symptoms unquote the report does not mention any alcohol or drug test of the driver and as of this wednesday june 1st the beltrami county attorney’s office has confirmed they have not received any reports calling for a review of any possible charges in this case and the report does not say whether investigators believe the bus just rolled on its side or rolled over multiple times i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me

Just my opinion, but I drove school busses for over 14 years, that bus did not roll over even once. The roof as well as the mirrors would look lot different. Plan and simply, a unfortunate accident. The driver has meny sleeplessness nights ahead as well as tough days. Glad no one was seriously hurt.
