Petersburg, North Dakota (trfnews.i234.me) – A serious two-vehicle crash in Nelson County has left a 66-year-old woman from Minnewaukan critically injured.

The collision occurred just after 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7, at the intersection of U.S. Highway 2 and ND Highway 32 in Petersburg. A 2023 Hyundai Tucson heading west on Highway 2 struck the right side of a 1999 Freightliner that was crossing northbound onto 1st Avenue.

The SUV’s driver, a 69-year-old Minnewaukan man, was uninjured, but his female passenger sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance for treatment. The semi-truck driver, a 46-year-old man from Scottsbluff, Nebraska, was also uninjured.

Charges remain under investigation, and the North Dakota Highway Patrol is continuing to look into the cause of the crash.
