Neil Lindell, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025. Neil left behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion that inspires all who knew him.
Born on December 4, 1932, Neil was a proud rancher. With the help of his wife and children, Neil spent his life tending the land and animals he loved. Neil also loved hunting and fishing, especially with his children, son-in-law, grandchildren, and friends.
Beyond his ranching career, Neil’s life was defined by service to others. Neil was an incredibly proud military veteran, serving his country with the U.S. Air Force. Neil also worked as a 4H leader, instilling in young people values of hard work, responsibility, and kindness. And as a man of deep faith, Neil found significant fulfillment in his church, serving his congregation with a heart full of grace and humility. Neil was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
In his later years, Neil found great joy in gardening. Tending to his plants kept him young at heart, offering a sense of peace and fulfillment that complemented his love for the land. He loved sharing his produce with neighbors, family, friends, and church members. Neil also relished his weekly gatherings with his Men’s Breakfast Club, where they solved all of the world’s problems, one conversation at a time.
Neil will be remembered, perhaps more than all else, as a family man. Neil married Kay Sellheim and loved her dearly for the past 67 years. Together they provided a comfortable, Christian home for their children. A steadfast supporter of his children, Neil was a constant presence at his children’s activities. He loved nothing more than cheering them on, attending their games and events with unwavering support.
But it was Neil’s grandchildren who brought him the greatest joy. He cherished every moment he spent with them, especially those spent boating on Cass Lake and churning homemade ice cream each Christmas. In his final days, Neil promised his grandson that when he meets Jesus face to face, he would ask him to watch over his family, exemplifying Neil’s immeasurable love for his grandchildren. They filled his heart in a way that words could never express, and the happiness they brought him will be felt forever.
Though his family mourns Neil’s passing, they take comfort in knowing that Neil is now with his Lord and his loved ones gone before him. Neil’s legacy will live on in the hearts of his wife, four children, son-in-law, two daughters-in-law, eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, friends, and the many lives he touched. He leaves behind a family that is stronger, kinder, and more loving because of his example.
