It sounds like everyone involved, including Mr. Richey, used enough restraint to prevent this crisis from becoming a trajedy. He could've gone just a step further at several points to cause great harm to others or himself but he kept choosing not to. Also sounds like the officers did everything they could to de-escalate.
This sounds like a man who can have a good life if he gets the right people around him to help him through his problem. He'll have to get rid of his ignorant attitude about cops as though they're all bad. Almost no group is blanketly all good or all bad.
