NDSU’s Russmann Named Summit League Peak Newcomer of the Month

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota State soccer’s Morgan Russmann was selected as the Summit League Peak Newcomer of the Month for October, announced the league office Wednesday morning.

Russmann earned her first monthly honor from the Summit League after a standout October, that included two Peak Performer of the Week honors, and leading the Bison soccer program to the Summit League Regular Season Championship.

In six games during the month, Russmann led the Summit League with seven goals and also added two assists, as she helped the Bison to a 5-1-0 record. Russmann scored four game-winning goals in the five wins overall. She totaled 16 points, as she averaged 2.67 points per game.

Russmann was also named the Summit League Offensive Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year at the end of the month, along with First Team All-Summit League and All-Newcomer team accolades.

The Peak Newcomer of the Month is a new honor for student-athletes during the 2024-25 season and will be given out monthly to an honoree participating in their first season at a Summit League institution.

Russmann and the Bison return to action on Thursday, as the No. 1 seeded Bison host No. 5 seed Oral Roberts in the Summit League Championships semifinal. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. at Dacotah Field.
