NDSU Volleyball Adds Three on Signing Day

FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State volleyball head coach Jennifer Lopez has announced the addition of three student-athletes on signing day.

Rya Borer, Abby Carpenter and Natasha Kidd will join the Bison in the fall of 2025.

“I’m thrilled to be adding these three talented athletes and their families to our program this fall,” said Lopez. “They each bring a level of competitiveness both on the court and in the classroom, and it’s going to be a good addition to what we will be returning on our roster. We are excited to see what they achieve in their careers as Bison.”

Borer was a three-year letterman at Norris High School and appeared in 89 sets during her senior season as a libero. The Lincoln, Neb., native totaled 471 digs with 97 assists and 29 aces this past season.

“Rya is a really smooth and calm defender that reads the game extremely well,” said Lopez. “She plays high school and club for two top notch programs, and she has the ability to make an immediate impact on the court. Her IQ and level of play is going to be a really great addition to our group of liberos”.

Carpenter was a four-year letterman at C.M. Russell High School. The Bozeman, Mont., native tallied 192 kills with a .331 hitting percentage as an outside hitter in her senior season. Carpenter also added 54 blocks, 41 aces and 29 digs to her stat line.

“Abby has great length and will add depth to our front row with her versatility and ability to play different positions,” said Lopez. “She’s passionate about what she wants and has a very strong growth mindset that is going to allow her to develop and grow within our program.”

Kidd was a two-year letterman and was named team captain in her junior season at The Rock School in Gainesville, Fla. She started two seasons as an outside hitter and helped her team to the NACA championship in her sophomore season. Kidd also played for the Gainesville Juniors club team from 2017-24.

“Natasha is a dynamic 6-rotation pin, who also has strong ball control qualities,” said Lopez. “She is extremely competitive and is wise beyond her years. She’s going to be adding depth to our pin positions and we are so excited about getting the opportunity to begin working with her when she gets to Fargo.”

NDSU will be back in action hosting Kansas City on Saturday. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m., at Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse.
