FARGO, N.D – North Dakota State men’s golf head coach Steve Kennedy announced the addition of two signees, with Carter White and Andrew Ballou joining the Bison.
Carter White | Verndale, Minnesota | Verndale HS
White joins the Bison from Verndale High School, coming off of a third-place finish at the Minnesota State Championships last season. White had a dominant season, placing in the top five in 12 of 13 tournaments and went on to place 29th at the National High School Golf Invitational. White is a four-time Minnesota State Championship participant, including a state championship as a sophomore and another third-place finish as a junior, earning three-all-state honors. He is a two-time conference championship medalist and has posted multiple competitive round lows of 65. Took first in seven Minnesota Jr PGA events, including the end of the year Warrior Cup in 2024. Also, a two-time letter winner in basketball, coming off of an Offensive Player of the Year junior season that included 449 points in 28 games.
Andrew Ballou | Victoria, Minnesota | Chanhassen HS
Ballou will come to NDSU from Chanhassen High School, where he earned all-state honors last season, along with Metro West All-Conference accolades. Ballou posted a scoring average of 73.2 last season, including multiple medalist honors. In the summer of 2024, Ballou recorded a top 10 finish at the Minnesota State Boys Jr Championship and also recorded a top 15 at the AJGA Future Legends Jr Championship and a top 20 at the Northern Junior Championship in Connecticut. He also made an appearance at the 2023 US Jr Amateur in South Carolina. Ballou has posted multiple competitive rounds of 66. He intends to major in Business at NDSU. Ballou’s aunt, Michelle, played college golf for the University of Minnesota.
The men’s golf program wrapped up the fall semester in late October with the program’s second win of the season and fifth top-five finish in five events. The Bison will return to action in mid-February in Arizona.
