NDSU Men’s Basketball Taking California Road Trip to CSU Bakersfield, Santa Clara

The Games: The North Dakota State men’s basketball team will take its first road trip of the season, playing at CSU Bakersfield on Monday, Nov. 11, and at Santa Clara on Wednesday, Nov. 13.

Where to Watch: Both games will be broadcast on ESPN+.
 
Radio: Sam Neidermann will call the games on 107.9 The Fox and Bison 1660. Broadcasts can also be streamed on the NDSU Athletics app, as well as at GoBison.com/AllAccess for free.
 
Against CSU Bakersfield: Monday will be the first meeting between the Bison and Roadrunners in men’s basketball. NDSU did play two games in Bakersfield on Dec. 28-29, 1998, taking on Azusa Pacific and Fresno Pacific in a Division II event hosted by CSU Bakersfield.
 
Against Santa Clara: Wednesday will be the second meeting all-time between the Bison and Broncos. NDSU won 91-85 at Santa Clara in the Cable Car Classic on Nov. 29, 2013, before defeating Rider in the championship game the next day.
 
Last Time vs. Santa Clara: Taylor Braun scored 21 points to lead six Bison players in double figures as NDSU held on for a 91-85 road victory over Santa Clara at the Leavey Center on Nov. 29, 2013. Braun set the NDSU school record for most free throws made in a game without a miss, going a perfect 19-for-19 at the charity stripe. As a team, NDSU was 32-for-36 in free throws.
          Mike Felt (15), Lawrence Alexander (15), Marshall Bjorklund (13), TrayVonn Wright (12) and Kory Brown (10) all joined Braun with double-digit scoring in the contest.
 
White Hot: Senior Jacari White has posted career-highs in back-to-back games to open the season, scoring 22 points vs. Jamestown on Nov. 4 before pouring in 27 points vs. Illinois State on Nov. 7. White is shooting 69 percent both overall and from three-point range this season. He has made 9-of-13 from beyond the arc.
 
Bombs Away: The Bison have attempted 67 three-pointers over their first two games this season. NDSU’s 39 three-point attempts vs. Illinois State were only one off the school single-game record of 40.
 
Added Experience: Between Jacksen Moni, Luke Kasubke, Masen Miller and Brennan Watkins, NDSU added 357 games and 8,072 minutes of college basketball experience to the roster with offseason transfers.

Tradition of Success: NDSU has played in 9 of the past 12 Summit League Tournament championship games, dating back to 2013. The Bison played in five consecutive league championship games from 2019-23.
 
White Honored: NDSU senior guard Jacari White was voted to the preseason All-Summit League second team. An All-Defensive Team honoree last season as a junior, he ranked fourth on the Bison with 10.3 points per game, and led NDSU with 66 three-pointers made and 45.5-percent shooting from beyond the arc. White drained multiple three-pointers in 11 consecutive contests to close the year, including 12 treys over the final three games.
 
Picked Third: The Bison were picked to finish third in The Summit League this season, according to the annual preseason poll. Kansas City topped the preseason poll with 17 of the 36 first-place votes, and South Dakota State came in second.
 
Bucket Getter: Senior transfer Jacksen Moni becomes the most experienced scorer on the revamped Bison roster for this season. He totaled 1,527 points in three seasons at Division II Northern State, averaging 21 points per game as a junior last year. Moni scored 40 points in a game against Winona State last February.
 
Bison Have Three National TV Games: The Bison will play on national television three times this season. NDSU’s game at Butler on Dec. 10 will air on FS1. A pair of Summit League games — NDSU at St. Thomas on Feb. 2, and the home game vs. Oral Roberts on Feb. 13 — will be broadcast by CBS Sports Network.
 
Shooters Shoot: Jacari White is a career 42.5-percent three-point shooter, ranking him seventh on the NDSU all-time list.
