Robert James Azure Sr., 49, of rural Naytahwaush, has been charged with felony second- and third-degree burglary after security cameras captured him and another man stealing items from a residence in Rochert. According to court records, Becker County deputies responded to the scene around 4 a.m. on July 11 after the newly installed cameras showed two men entering the garage and removing several items, including a TV.
Officers arrived within 15 minutes, only to find several items missing. Shortly after, a vehicle was spotted near the property, which led officers to a woman who admitted she was called by Azure to pick him up. About six hours later, Azure and the other suspect were found walking five miles from the scene, drenched and matching the description of the suspects on the footage.
Several stolen items, including a TV, fireworks, and tools, were recovered nearby. Azure’s glasses, which matched a prior booking photo, were also found at the scene. Azure posted $500 bail on August 28 and is set to appear in court on September 16.
