Grand Forks, Nelson & Ramsey Counties (trfnews.i234.me) — A multi-county pursuit across northeast North Dakota ended near Devils Lake on Monday afternoon. Officials say the driver, a 42-year-old Grand Forks woman, now faces multiple charges.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the chase began on September 29, 2025, at around 2:10 p.m. A trooper observed a 2010 Chrysler Sebring traveling west on Highway 2 near mile marker 330 in Grand Forks County. The vehicle had an obstructed rear view due to items piled in the back seat and was operating with only one exterior mirror. Troopers also saw the car strike the fog line.
When an officer attempted a traffic stop, the driver allegedly refused to pull over and accelerated westbound. The pursuit continued through Grand Forks, Nelson, and into Ramsey County. Authorities deployed spike strips multiple times, but the vehicle continued traveling at high speeds.
As the pursuit neared Devils Lake, law enforcement boxed in the Sebring to slow it down and then executed a PIT (pursuit intervention technique) maneuver. The car came to a stop, and the driver was arrested without injury. She was transported to the Grand Forks Correctional Center.
The woman is now charged with fleeing a police officer, a Class C felony; reckless endangerment with extreme indifference, a Class C felony; and driving under suspension, a Class B misdemeanor. No injuries were reported during the pursuit.
The incident remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol. Agencies assisting in the pursuit included the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office, and Ramsey County Emergency Services.
