MOORHEAD, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A Moorhead, Minnesota woman, Kaitlyn Smith, is now facing felony charges after allegedly setting up her date for a brutal robbery.
According to court documents, the male victim had been dating Smith for about a month when, on August 26th, she picked him up and drove him to a residence at 315 33rd Street South in Moorhead. As they walked around the north side of the building, the victim was suddenly attacked by two men, one of whom he recognized as Francisco Vargas Jr.
The assault left the victim with a broken finger, nose, and fractured ribs, and his backpack, containing approximately $840 worth of items, was stolen.
Smith allegedly warned the victim not to report the incident, threatening that “they will kill you, your mom, and me.” It was then that the victim realized Smith was involved in the attack.
Smith has been charged with aiding and abetting robbery and assault, while Francisco Vargas Jr. faces charges of robbery, assault, and gross misdemeanor theft.
The third suspect remains unidentified.
