Moorhead Woman Charged with Assault After Threatening Group Home Employee with Knife

MOORHEAD, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A 45-year-old Moorhead woman, Kelly A. Zender, is facing serious criminal charges after allegedly threatening a group home employee with a knife. According to court documents, the incident occurred on June 25th. Officers were dispatched to the group home in Moorhead after receiving reports of a disturbance.

An employee at the home reported that she was watching TV while Zender was cooking in the kitchen. Zender became upset, knocked the TV to the ground, and then came after the employee with a knife. The terrified employee fled to a bedroom and locked the door. She reported that Zender was hitting the door and yelling, “Come here, I’m going to stab you.”

Kelly A. Zender has been charged with felony assault with a dangerous weapon and misdemeanor damage to property.
