Moorhead, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) A Moorhead woman is now charged in a May 2025 incident involving an alleged attempted bike theft and a reported vehicle assault.
Toni L. Lorsung of Moorhead is facing multiple criminal counts. Court documents say the incident happened May 27, 2025. Charges were filed on Dec. 31, 2025. A charging document is not proof of guilt. A defendant is presumed innocent unless convicted in court.
What court documents allege
According to court records, officers responded to a report at 2751 8th Avenue North in Moorhead. The report came from a male victim.
The victim told police he was watching an electric bike for another person. He said Lorsung tried to take the bike.
The victim reported that an assault occurred during the attempted theft. He said Lorsung tried to place the bike into the back seat of her car.
According to the report, Lorsung then backed up. The victim said the rear passenger door struck him. He said the impact knocked him to the ground.
The victim told police the bike fell from the vehicle. He said Lorsung then left the area.

Video evidence
Court documents say surveillance video captured part of what happened. The report says the video shows some vehicle movement. It does not show the alleged assault.
Charges filed
Lorsung is charged with felony attempted simple robbery. She is also charged with felony assault with a dangerous weapon. Court documents list the vehicle as the weapon.
She also faces gross misdemeanor counts. Those include a traffic collision with failure to stop. Another count is criminal vehicular operation.
