Moorhead Woman Charged After Alleged iPhone Theft At Dilworth Walmart

DILWORTH, Minn. (trfnews.i234.me— A Moorhead woman is facing criminal charges after allegedly stealing an iPhone 15 Plus from the Walmart store in Dilworth. According to court documents, Marissa Beutler of Moorhead was arrested following the incident on October 20.

Investigators say Beutler told store employees she intended to purchase the iPhone, valued at $629, but instead took the phone to the front of the store. There, she allegedly told the cashier she had already paid for the device and then ran out of the store without paying.

Officers with the Dilworth Police Department located Beutler nearby shortly after the theft and placed her under arrest. The phone was recovered, and Beutler was taken into custody without further incident.

Beutler is now charged with felony computer theft and gross misdemeanor theft. The case has been filed in Clay County District Court. Authorities have not released details on whether surveillance footage contributed to the arrest, though Walmart’s loss prevention team assisted in the investigation.

The Dilworth Police Department reminds residents that retail theft can lead to serious criminal charges, including felony counts when the value of property exceeds $500.
