The weather service also logged very strong winds in Fargo. Observations at Fargo’s airport showed gusts reaching 61 miles per hour Thursday morning.

Dumpster rolls in the wind
A video from Moorhead shows the wind moving a dumpster. The dumpster rolls across a paved area. No injuries were reported in the clip.
Strong gusts like this can move loose items fast. Trash bins, signs, and carts can become hazards.

Drivers should expect drifting snow and sudden whiteouts. Slow down and keep space between cars. Turn on the headlights in blowing snow.
