Moorhead, Minn. (trfnews.i234.me) — A Horace, North Dakota, man is accused of using a wig as a disguise during a laundry room theft at a Moorhead apartment building.

What police allege

Eric Allan Lemer, 34, of Horace, ND, is charged with theft and damage to property.

Prosecutors filed one gross misdemeanor count of Damage to Property in the Third Degree.

They also filed one misdemeanor count of Theft.

The complaint says the incident happened on December 10, 2025.

Police were sent to an apartment complex after a report of a broken change machine.

Investigators learned Lemer had been staying in the building as a guest.

The complaint says another resident let him into the building.

Authorities say he then borrowed a tenant’s wig.

The complaint says he wore the wig to hide his identity.

Change machine broken, cash taken

The complaint says Lemer went into the laundry room and used force on the machine.

Police say the locking mechanism was damaged during the break-in.

Investigators estimate that about $200 in cash was taken from the machine.

They also estimate $884.33 in damage to the equipment.

The complaint says the damage was not authorized by the owner.

Lemer is charged under Minnesota law for theft and property damage.
