MOORHEAD, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Moorhead police are investigating an early morning homicide that occurred on Sunday, Aug. 4. Just after midnight, officers responded to a call in the 1000 block of Third Avenue North, where they found a man who had been stabbed in the chest. The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.
A small kitchen knife, believed to be the weapon used in the stabbing, was found and marked as evidence in the road.
Connie Jo Frank, 47, is currently being held on charges of second-degree murder and drunk driving. She was detained a few hours after the incident when she returned to the scene.
Police have not disclosed the motive behind the stabbing. The incident took place outside in front of a home, and there were no witnesses. Authorities stated that Frank and the victim had known each other for some time but did not elaborate on their relationship. Neither Frank nor the victim lived at the home; a relative of one of them resides there.
This incident marks the second homicide in Moorhead in less than two weeks, following a shooting homicide on Wednesday, July 24.
