Moorhead, MN – A suspected burglar learned the hard way that he had targeted the wrong home after a homeowner chased him down the street following an attempted break-in.
According to court documents, on February 16, Moorhead police responded to a burglary in progress. The suspect, identified as Jacob J. Handeland, allegedly broke into the porch of a residence and forced open the door while the homeowner and their small child were inside.
Realizing the intrusion, the homeowner confronted Handeland and pursued him down the street before police arrived and took him into custody. Handeland is now charged with felony first-degree burglary of an occupied residence.
Authorities urge residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
