Moorhead (trfnews.i234.me) — A Moorhead man is in custody after being charged in Clay County with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl.
Charge Filed in Clay County
Christopher Milo Dangelo, 58, made his first court appearance on Wednesday. He faces one felony count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
According to the criminal complaint, the girl reported the assault to Fargo police on Dec. 3, 2025. She said the abuse happened over several days in late November.
What Investigators Allege
Investigators said the girl told them she met Dangelo near a liquor store in downtown Fargo. She said she asked if she could stay with him.
The complaint says the two then went to Dangelo’s home on 10th Street North in Moorhead. The girl told investigators sexual contact happened three times that night.
Authorities said video footage supported parts of her account. Surveillance video showed the girl walking on Broadway near Bismarck Tavern around 12:30 a.m. on Nov. 30, 2025.
Investigators said a vehicle later tied to Dangelo left the area minutes later. They said the passenger matched the girl’s description.
Statement to Police
According to the complaint, investigators interviewed Dangelo at his home in January. The complaint says he recognized the girl from a photo.
It also says he admitted the two had sex, but claimed it was consensual.
Next Court Date
Dangelo appeared in court on March 25. An omnibus hearing is set for April 16 in Clay County District Court.
If convicted, he could face up to 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine under Minnesota law.
The case remains pending. A charge is only an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
