Clay County Man Charged in Fargo Pizza Robbery

Fargo (trfnews.i234.me) — A Moorhead man is facing criminal charges after allegedly robbing a pizza delivery worker at taser point in Fargo.

According to a police report, the robbery happened around 2:10 a.m. on October 23. A pizza delivery driver told police a man approached her outside a building entrance, pointed a taser at her, and demanded the pizza. The taser was sparking during the encounter.

The driver said the incident scared her, but she was not hurt. The suspect fled with approximately $18 worth of pizza and two delivery bags, each valued at around $90.

After investigating, officers identified Philip E. Bassar of Moorhead as the suspect. Bassar is now charged with felony robbery, felony theft of property, and driving under suspension in Cass County District Court.

Police say even minor-value robberies can lead to serious felony charges. Robbery under North Dakota law is a Class B felony, which can mean up to 10 years in prison. More details on robbery penalties can be found in the North Dakota Century Code.

Authorities remind residents to remain aware of their surroundings during late-night deliveries and to report suspicious behavior immediately. Fargo Police continue to investigate related incidents in the area.
