FARGO (trfnews.i234.me) – A Moorhead man arrested in Fargo on Thursday has now been charged in connection with a brutal stabbing that occurred in June. Joshua Potter, 35, faces charges of aggravated assault, terrorizing, and drug possession following the violent incident.
According to court records, Potter was initially wanted for attempted murder after he stabbed a man during a confrontation in south Fargo. The victim and his girlfriend had initially told police that an unknown assailant attempted to rob the victim and slit his throat. However, investigators later discovered that Potter, who was driving the group around Fargo the night of the incident, was responsible for the attack.
The woman told police that after a stop at a convenience store to use Wi-Fi, an argument erupted between Potter and the victim. Potter allegedly pulled over, crawled into the back of the van, and stabbed the victim. After the assault, Potter reportedly apologized and drove the victim to a hospital.
On Thursday, officers arrested Potter in downtown Fargo on a shoplifting warrant, during which they discovered his involvement in the stabbing. He now faces charges of aggravated assault, terrorizing, and drug possession, adding to his already significant legal troubles.
