Clay County, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A 42-year-old Moorhead man, Travis Jerome Chlarson, is facing a felony fifth-degree controlled substance charge after allegedly being caught with methamphetamine at the Clay County Jail.
On June 3, 2025, Deputy Matt Lambert with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a vehicle registered to Chlarson. The traffic stop was based on a felony warrant for a probation violation. After identifying and detaining him, Chlarson was transported to jail.
During intake, jail staff discovered two small bags of a white crystalline substance in Chlarson’s jeans — one of which tested positive for methamphetamine. The remaining bag weighed 1 gram with packaging.
Chlarson is now charged under Minnesota Statute 152.025, carrying a maximum sentence of 5 years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.
