Moorhead Man Arrested After Threatening to Burn Trailer During Police Standoff

MOORHEAD, Minn. (trfnews.i234.me) — A 25-year-old Moorhead man, Jeremy Person, was arrested after a tense standoff with police in the Bennett Trailer Park. The incident began when officers responded to reports of multiple men attempting to break into a vehicle on the 1800 block of 4th Avenue South around 9 p.m. Person fled the scene, locking himself inside a bathroom of an abandoned trailer set for demolition.

During the standoff, Person threatened to set the trailer on fire. Police deployed OC spray, PepperBall rounds, and K9 Kash, but Person remained barricaded. Finally, a canister of OC gas forced him to flee the trailer, where K9 Kash apprehended him.

Person, who already had outstanding felony warrants, now faces new charges of burglary, assault, and fleeing.
