Moorhead Man Arrested After High-Speed Chase
MOORHEAD, Minn. (trfnews.i234.me) — A Moorhead man was arrested early Friday morning, October 24, after leading police on a high-speed chase through the city. Authorities identified the suspect as Travas Rheault, who was wanted on an active felony warrant.
According to law enforcement, officers first located Rheault and his vehicle at 1021 32nd Avenue South in Moorhead. While officers maintained surveillance in the area, Rheault was later seen leaving around 12:45 a.m. Police attempted a traffic stop, but Rheault fled, initiating a pursuit.
Court records indicate that the chase reached speeds of approximately 53 miles per hour before officers successfully deployed stop sticks, deflating two of the vehicle’s tires. Rheault’s vehicle eventually came to a stop, and he surrendered without further incident.
Rheault was taken into custody and is now facing a felony charge of fleeing a peace officer. Additional charges could be considered as the case proceeds.
The Moorhead Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
