Fargo, Cass County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Moorhead man, identified as Esiquio Hernandez, is facing a felony charge of aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon after a brutal attack at Old Broadway in Fargo during the early morning hours of June 8.

According to Fargo police, the victim arrived at Essentia Hospital just after 4 a.m., suffering from multiple facial cuts and a stab wound to the neck.

Court records state that Hernandez approached the victim and asked, “Are you the guy?” — then smashed a glass cup over his head. He allegedly followed up the blow by picking up a sharp object and stabbing the victim on the left side of his neck, dangerously close to an artery.

The victim, who required approximately 30 stitches, told police he believed Hernandez was trying to kill him and described Hernandez as someone who often “catches people off guard.”

Hernandez appeared in court for his arraignment at 1:30 p.m. on June 9.
