MOORHEAD, M.N. (trfnews.i234.me) – Ethan Monshaugen, a 16-year-old team manager for the Moorhead High School hockey team, passed away unexpectedly due to a spontaneous aortic dissection. To honor his memory, the Spuds dedicated their home opener against Grand Rapids to him.
As team members reflected on Ethan’s contributions, they emphasized his positive influence and camaraderie. Team managers Jake Franklin and Graden Quade described Ethan’s presence as uplifting, noting how his energy impacted practices, games, and the locker room environment.
Cory Monshaugen, Ethan’s father, shared that his last conversation with his son was about the upcoming hockey season. The team plans to dedicate their performance this year to Ethan, striving for a state championship in his honor.
Ethan would have been a junior this year. His legacy continues to inspire his teammates, school community, and family.
