CLAY COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — Moorhead police have arrested a Fargo man following an early morning armed robbery at an apartment complex.
Authorities say the incident happened around 1:40 a.m. Wednesday in the 3300 block of Third Avenue North. Officers arrived to find the victim, who was not physically injured. Investigators learned the victim and suspect were acquaintances.
According to police, the suspect fled by jumping from a second-story window. A Clay County Sheriff’s Office K-9 team attempted to track the suspect but was unable to locate him at that time. Officers did recover a knife believed to have been used in the robbery.
At about 5:36 a.m., Moorhead officers were called to a McDonald’s on Highway 10 for a report of a suspicious person. Police say that person was identified as the robbery suspect, 49-year-old Deshun Jones of Fargo.
Jones was arrested without incident and taken to the Clay County Jail. He is being held on charges of aggravated armed robbery, second-degree assault, fourth-degree assault on a peace officer, and misdemeanor obstruction of legal process.
